As a part of the outreach policy of the institute, it provides opportunities to bright external students at postgraduate and undergraduate levels from different universities institutions across the country for carrying out dissertation/summer training.

Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) under Indian Space Research Organisation, Department of Space, Govt. of India is a premier Training and Educational Institute set up for developing trained professionals in the field of Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics and GPS Technology for Natural Resources, Environmental and Disaster Management.
About the Internship:
The duration of summer training will be six to eight weeks during May-June. The GH (PPEG), IIRS, in consultation with the faculty of IIRS will identify a suitable faculty at IIRS as project supervisor. The identified IIRS faculty will be the sole guide/supervisor for the topic allotted to the student. The topic allotted to the student will be within the overall framework of research and operational programmes of IIRS.
Who can apply:
- Candidate having blood relation with the IIRS employee;
- Single candidate or a group of candidates from reputed institutes/ centres of excellence (e.g. IITs, BITS-Pilani, IISc, IIST, NITs etc.).
Additional Information:
Please note that the minimum duration of research project at postgraguate level at IIRS is four months, and the maximum duration is one year.
